Starting from October 16, we invite you to our museum for the presentation of a part of the unique international project: "10,000 Angels – Global Children's Tapestry – A Voice for Peace."
Scottish artist and volunteer Mary-Anne Orr is implementing an art project in Ukraine: children draw angels, and their works become part of a large panoramic tapestry that unites children's voices from around the world. The goal of the project is to unite the world's countries in the fight for peace through children's creativity and to remind everyone that the future belongs to those who dream of a world without war.
The exhibition at the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion will feature a panel with children's drawings which, thanks to volunteers—Scottish textile artisans—are being transformed into embroidered works, executed using the artist’s unique technique on felted wool. Eventually, the canvases will be joined together into a massive panoramic tapestry with ten thousand angels, measuring 60 meters in length and 2 meters in height. A photograph of each child with their drawing will be displayed next to their work.
So, come to the exhibition "10,000 Angels – Global Children's Tapestry – A Voice for Peace" to feel the power of children's imagination and their boundless faith in a better future.
